The Exam Simulator Questions are FULLY UPDATED for the Current Exam!

Three Exam Modes

Practice makes perfect. And even though you only get one attempt at taking the real Project Management Professional (PMP)®, PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)®, or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)® Exam, you are going to want to be able to retake each exam in The PM Exam Simulator multiple times.

No problem, because with The PM Exam Simulator, you'll get unlimited repeats.

This means that you can retake any exam or quiz in the simulator as often as you like for as long as you have an active subscription.

There are three different modes for taking exams.

Mode 1: Real Exam Mode

This mode simulates the real exam experience. Use this mode to practice taking a full exam in an exam-like setting. And because this mode does not allow you to pause or see any hints/answers, it means that the more exams you take in this way the more prepared you will feel for the real exam.

Here is what the Real Exam Mode looks like depending on the exam you are preparing for:
Criteria PMP® Simulator PMI-ACP® Simulator CAPM® Simulator
Number of exams 4 4 5
Exam duration 230 minutes * 3 hours 3 hours
Questions per exam 180 120 150
Unlimited exam repeats Yes Yes Yes
Conforms to Exam Content Outline Yes Yes Yes

* Note, due to the design of the simulator software, the exact duration of the exam is 231 minutes.

Real Exam Mode is Recommended only for Laptop or Desktop

We recommend that you use the Real Exam Mode exclusively on your laptop or desktop computer.

It is possible to use a tablet or phone in this mode -- but it is not recommended because you want to prepare in the as most exam-like fashion as possible. And that means sitting at a desk, using an external computer monitor, keyboard, and mouse. Using a tablet or phone means that you are not practicing for the real exam.

This is why the simulator displays a warning message whenever you start the Real Exam Mode on a tablet or phone. This message is intended to remind you to prepare only under the most ideal conditions.

You will be able to use the simulator on your preferred device but you are reminded to use a "real" computer for full exams. (The warning message is not displayed in the other two exam modes.)

Mode 2: Timed Mode

This mode is just like the Real Exam Mode but you can select how many and what type of questions you would like to see. This mode is ideal if you have 20 minutes over lunch and you just want to take a quick quiz.

The total amount of time that you have available to complete a quiz is calculated using the formula "Number of questions * Time allowed per question".

Here is what the Timed Mode looks like depending on the exam you are preparing for:
Criteria PMP Simulator PMI-ACP Simulator CAPM Simulator
Number of questions 10-100 10-100 10-75
Average time allowed per question 72 sec 90 sec 72 sec

Mode 3: Learning Mode

The Learning Mode is different from the Timed Mode in three ways: There is no countdown timer, you can display a hint, and you can display the answer and explanation. This mode is intended for those times when you want to focus on one particular area of the exam (for example Procurement Management or Agile Mindset) and review each question in detail as you go through them.

Here is what the Learning Mode looks like depending on the exam you are preparing for:
Criteria PMP Simulator PMI-ACP Simulator CAPM Simulator

Question Allocation Among the Three Modes

The PM Exam Simulator for PMP features two separate question pools: one for quizzes, another one for exams. The quiz pool consists of over 1,350 questions. This means that you can practice 1,350+ questions using the various quiz criteria without seeing a single question from an exam-dedicated question pool. The exam pool consists of 720 questions assigned to four full-length 180-question exams.

The PM Exam Simulator for CAPM and PMI-ACP uses the same questions in all three modes. For example, there are 650 questions in the simulator for those preparing for their CAPM Exam. This means if you first take 10 quizzes with 50 questions each, you will go through 500 of the available 650 CAPM questions. And if you now take Exam 1, Exam 2, and Exam 3 in order (each containing 150 questions), you will see many of the same questions again.
